Outpatient addiction Treatment
Outpatient treatment services are available to youth between the ages of 10-18 years old. Through one-on-one therapy, group sessions and family education, our outpatient programs provide a place where clients and families are supported, learn about addiction and develop critical skills necessary to recovery. Clients are randomly tested to support and verify their progress in treatment.
Group sessions are designed to meet clients where they are in their recovery by focusing on specific topic areas. Each group meets regularly and can last anywhere from 4-12 weeks depending on the curriculum. Group offerings vary by location. The following are examples of the topics that may be covered:
The Brain Classes (6-8 weeks)
This program focuses on the danger of substance use, signs and symptoms of addiction, and healthy support systems.
“Gotta Wanna” Group (6-8 weeks)
This program encourages clients to find motivation for change. Participants learn how to make healthier choices, alternative ways to enjoy life, and goal-setting skills.
Family Education (4 weeks)
This program focuses on skills to improve communication and support the family.
DBT Skills Group (8 weeks)
This program focuses on mindfulness skills, interpersonal communication, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation.
Relapse Prevention Group (12 weeks)
This group incorporates DBT skills into daily living. Participants focus on maintaining sobriety, preparing for aftercare, and creating links to community support.
G.O.A.L.S Program (Ages 10-13)
This program focuses on identifying potential issues and providing intervention before substance use becomes serious. The program aims to help at-risk teens understand drug and alcohol effects, develop refusal skills, identify emotions and feelings, build self-esteem and create healthy relationships.
Independent Living Skills Program (Ages 16+)
Many teens are forced to enter the adult world at an early age, with little support and no preparation. This program is designed to help prevent relapse by teaching clients key life skills, such as developing a resume, applying for jobs, opening a bank account, applying to college, cooking healthy meals and budgeting.
